Paulina Ucher Comer, Class of 2006, had an outstanding five-year tennis career at Bartlett.

Paulina played a major role in the success of the tennis program from her 8th grade through senior seasons. As an 8th grader, Paulina started the season at the doubles two position, but soon transitioned to singles number three. Paulina's record as a first-year starter was 14-1. Paulina's terrific play moved her ahead of several talented upperclassmen on a very successful team.

By rule in tennis, the top player for a team needs to be played at the number one singles position. Thus, despite only being a freshman, Paulina would take on all opponents' top players at singles number one. In that freshman season, Paulina faced all juniors and seniors, resulting in a solid 10 and 5 record. In her sophomore and junior years, her records improved to 14-2, with the only losses taking place when playing division one Shepherd Hill.

As a senior Paulina was named Captain and recorded an 18-0 record, which was duplicated by the team. Paulina's leadership and example set the tone for the entire team. This season was the first time that any Bartlett team went undefeated during the regular season in the 21st Century. Paulina had a complete tennis game with a great forehand, an effective backhand, and a solid serve. However, what stood out most was her great attitude and refusal to give in. Over the years, her no-quit, dig-in attitude was the difference in many of her hard fought victories and was admired by her coach and teammates. During her career, Paulina accumulated more wins for Hall of Fame Coach John Mrazik than any other player he had ever coached. Paulina was a four-time SWCL Conference All-star and was named MVP in her senior year.

Paulina also excelled in academics, being inducted into the National Honor Society.

Paulina earned her nursing degree at Bridgewater State College while continuing her successful tennis career.

Paulina is a registered nurse at UMass Hospital and resides in Uxbridge with her husband Jacob and daughter Kayleigh.
